Suggested Moments
A calming herbal tea that gently supports the nervous system, inviting moments of stillness, reflection, and quiet restoration.
There are some preparations we reach for because we are trying to fix something.
Lemon Balm Tea invites something different.
It asks us to pause before we solve, soften before we push, and breathe before we continue. Whether the day has been filled with noise, responsibilities, difficult emotions, or simply too much thinking, this gentle infusion offers a quiet place to land.
The ritual begins long before the first sip. Boiling the water. Waiting while the leaves steep. Wrapping your hands around a warm mug. These small moments remind the body that not every part of life needs to happen quickly.
Lemon balm has been cherished for centuries for its gentle relationship with the nervous system. Here, that relationship becomes less about the herb alone and more about the practice of making space for yourself.
1–2 teaspoons dried lemon balm leaves, or a generous handful of fresh leaves
1 cup freshly boiled water
Optional
Honey
Fresh lemon
Chamomile or lavender
Preparation
Place the lemon balm into a teapot, infuser, or favourite mug.
Pour freshly boiled water over the leaves.
Cover while steeping to help preserve the aromatic oils.
Allow the tea to steep for 10–15 minutes.
Strain, if needed, and enjoy while warm.
Rather than drinking it on the go, consider allowing this tea to become a small transition between one part of your day and the next.
A Gentle Companion To...

This preparation is especially comforting when your thoughts feel busy, your shoulders seem to carry the weight of the day, or your body is asking for gentleness instead of more effort.
It pairs beautifully with journaling, quiet reading, evening reflection, restorative movement, or simply sitting outside as daylight begins to soften.
You don't need an elaborate ritual. Sometimes one warm cup is enough.
Notes
Lemon balm is generally considered a gentle herb and has long been used to support relaxation and emotional ease.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, living with a thyroid condition, or taking prescription medications, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbs regularly.
The Grimoire is offered as an educational companion and is not a substitute for individualized medical care.
Carry This Forward

The smallest rituals often become the ones we return to most.
May this cup remind you that rest is not found only after everything is finished. Sometimes it begins with choosing, even for a few quiet minutes, to care for yourself exactly as you are.
