Ritual Focus
Reflection
Season
A quiet practice for staying with what has become clear without demanding an immediate decision, plan, or answer.
I can know what is true without knowing what comes next.
Sometimes we know that something has changed before we know what to do about it. This practice creates a little room between those two moments. Nothing needs to be resolved here. You are simply making space to recognize what is already true and allowing the next step to arrive in its own time.
Purpose
To create space around something unresolved so that clarity can emerge without being forced into an immediate decision.
When To Return To This Ritual
When you know something needs to change but aren't yet sure what comes next; when urgency is making every decision feel immediate; or when you find yourself searching for more answers instead of staying with what you already know.
Gather
A small piece of paper
A pen or pencil
A quiet place to sit
A small object to hold the folded paper, if you wish
Natural Companions
If this resonates with you...
Lemon Balm — for softening some of the internal noise so there is more room to listen.
Prepare Your Space
Find somewhere you can be undisturbed for a few minutes. This doesn't need to become ceremonial unless you want it to. Sit somewhere your body feels reasonably supported and place the paper and pen within reach.
Before You Begin

Notice what is physically supporting you: the chair beneath you, your feet against the floor, the surface beneath your hands. You do not need to change your breathing or make yourself calm. Simply notice that you are here.
Bring to mind the situation that has been asking for an answer. Resist the urge to solve it. For now, you are only listening.
Step One
At the top of your paper, write:
What I know now is...
Finish the sentence as simply as you can. Try not to explain, defend, predict, or decide what your knowing requires of you. Name only what feels true today.
Step Two
Leave some space beneath your first answer and write:
What I do not need to know yet is...
Notice where you have been asking yourself for certainty that you may not actually have yet. Name the unanswered part without trying to fill it.
Step Three
Read both sentences back to yourself.
Notice the difference between what you know and what remains unknown. Let both be allowed to exist at the same time.
Step Four
Fold the paper once.
Place it somewhere you will naturally encounter again: inside your journal, beneath something on your bedside table, on an altar, at your desk, or even in your pocket.
You are not putting the question away. You are giving it somewhere to rest.
Step Five
Leave it there.
There is no required amount of time before you return. Come back when something has shifted, when new information arrives, or when the next step begins to feel less like something you have to chase.
Reflection
Not knowing what comes next does not erase what you already know.
There is often a period between recognition and action when nothing appears to be happening, yet something important is taking shape. Allowing that space can be its own form of participation.
Journal Prompt
If I stopped demanding an answer about what comes next, what truth would I be able to stay with today?
Closing Blessing

May what is already clear be enough for today. May what is still becoming be given the time it needs.
